Money Saving Websites -- provided by TLC

So, even though I love to hate "TLC's Extreme Couponing," I got on TLC's website this evening and they had a link for "10 Best Websites to Save You Money."  And as I'm reading through this I thought I'd share some of the highlights.

  1. Buy gently used kids clothing from ThredUP.  The cost is $5 per box + shipping.  You don't get to pick they style of clothing or see any pictures, but you do get to pick the size and gender of the clothing needed, and they will let you know the colors and season of clothing.  There is even a special bonus if you are apart of a military family!
  2. Join and have them follow the grocery and drugstore deals for you.  This site helps you combine coupons with store sales and reward cards to get the best deals.  The information for the stores is generally available the day the sale starts.  The site is FREE to join!
  3. When shopping on Amazon first use Camelcamelcamel before you purchase.  They monitor historical pricing info for thousands of items.  This site helps you determine when the best time to buy is.
  4. Instead of buying designer fashion RENT it!  Go to RentTheRunway where you can rent at less than 10% the retail cost. Pay $5 for insurance against accidental spills and stains.  After you've worn your dress than mail it back to the company!
  5. When shopping online, always check RetailMeNot for online coupon codes.  These codes can range from FREE shipping to a percentage off or an amount off the total purchase.
  6. Minimize monthly bills with BillShrink.  This site can review your monthly statements and suggest cost cutting measures.  Registration is FREE.
  7. Protect yourself from price fluctuations with Price Protectr.  As long as the store you bought "the item" at has a price protection policy, you'll be able to recoup the difference if "the item" goes on sale.
  8. Get social discounts from Groupon.
  9. Find the lowest gas prices with GasBuddy.  Also, available as an app for those on the go!
  10. Want to find daily deals in your town?  Use CitiesOnTheCheap to help find great deals and freebies!
I hope that at least some of these links are helpful to you and your family!
