So, I just got married, and I want to thank many people in helping make our day so special. Instead of just sending everyone money, because that just seems sort of lame (although it does fit everyone!) we thought about doing something nice for everyone, like "taking" them out to eat, by sending them a restaurant gift card.
Not only will this work for a thank you gift but many people give gift cards year round as birthday presents, Mother's Day and Father's Day gifts, Christmas, etc. So let's say you have $50 to spend on someone and want to get them a gift card...wouldn't it be better to pay $46 for a $50 gift card?! Some of you may be thinking "How in the world am I going to get a gift card for $4 less?!" Well, let me tell you.
There many websites that buy and sell unused gift cards. Some of these gift cards may be an exact amount (i.e. $25 or $50) but some may be an odd amount (i.e. $22.53 or $146.97). The odd amount ones are sold by consumers (like you and me) after using a small portion of a gift card and then deciding they won't use the rest. So these people then sell their unused gift card to different companies and get cash for them. These companies then turn around and sell them to other consumers! SO, where do you find these deals on gift cards?
These websites determine the percent you will save on each type gift card. So for a Kohl's gift card you may get a 14% discount, but for Target you may only get a 3% discount. Either way you save!
So next time you're in the market for a gift card (or you just do a lot of shopping at some of these stores), consider going through one of these great gift card retailers for a great deal!
